- Max Bosshart
After 4 years of studies as a Dental Technician in Zurich-Switzerland, in the years 1970/1971 he added one year of specialization in Dental Ceramics.
Since 1976 Max Bosshart is teaching removable prosthodontics. He had the chance to join 1980 for 10 years Professor Gerber as an assistant in his scientific work. This work was interrupted several times for activities abroad, for example for 1 year in the USA where he became a master Dental Technician. From 1987 to 1990 he continued his professional studies in Zurich and was at the same time teachings at the Masters Dental Technician School in Switzerland.
1991 Max Bosshart opened a small facility containing a Clinic for removable prosthodontics, aesthetics and occlusion, a dental laboratory, where interested Professors, Dentists and Dental Technician are joining for un update in the Gerber Method or come for several days for a practical course.
Since the last 30 years, Max Bosshart is teaching in 4 languages all over the world and is very pleased to have the opportunity to meet ones more his colleagues in Japan, for whom he has a enormous respect for there professionalism.
Removable prosthodontics：Patient related reconstruction of the edentulous
In Japan, only 11% of the edentulous person can chew all kind of regular food. Over 20% show difficulties chewing with their dentures.
Dental technician depend on the delivered work from the clinician. Important clinical aspects like the pre-prosthetic treatment will be shortly mentioned.
This presentation emphasizes on the occlusion of removable prosthodontic work, including implant supported hybrid dentures and partial dentures.
A critical approach on the function of today’s articulators shows the deficiencies of our instruments. For implants, the consequences are very important in cases of fixed restorations.
